"Discipline is the bridge between Goals and Accomplishments"
It’s easy to work out when everything is going well. When you have a lot of motivation, the weather is perfect, your muscles feel loose and you have a ton of energy. But what about when it’s rainy, you’re sore, you didn’t get much sleep the night before, you have a busy day..what do you do then?
See, those are the moments when most people make an excuse to not finish the job. I know that because I’m guilty of it, I’m human. But discipline is about making those moments so few in between, that when you do hit the snooze button and miss that morning workout..you feel like shit the rest of the day and feel compelled to do extra the next day. That’s the difference, champions use those moments of weakness as motivation. I look at discipline as an acquired skill, it’s not like some people have it and others don’t. It’s a skill that needs to be practiced. A muscle that needs to be built.
If you know you struggle with staying disciplined, try this: identify a simple task and do it every day for 30 days. It can be making your bed, drinking a gallon of water, a 1-minute plank, etc. Pick something, and stick with it. Then as you’re building that muscle, apply the skill to every other aspect of your life.
Be Disciplined. Stay Consistent. Outwork Everyone.
